Voki

The value of Voki is adding variety to how information is presented in the education space. Using Voki characters also makes the way in which information is presented more personable instead of just having to read everything. Adding these interactive elements to presentations or websites could help how the information is perceived by the viewer.

The Voki character that was highlighted on Canvas looked to me like a character in one of the Bratz movies I watched as a child, so I tried to find an animation that was more detailed and sleek. So, a challenge or downside to Voki that I encountered when using the application is that I would have wanted to have the option to customize my character more. I would have wanted all the characters to have the same clothing options instead of only having limited and specific options for each character. I loved the animation of the character that I chose and the corresponding male character, but I didn't find any other character that I liked in regard to how they were animated. I also would have wanted to add a background from my pictures on my computer. However, I like that I ended up with the UF colors as my theme.

Google Slide

Google Slides adds so much value to the education and business environment, but especially when people need to collaborate on a shared project. I have often done collaborative projects on Google Slides and docs, and even Canva in the education and business environment. This is especially helpful when collaborating with people in different parts of the world and when a lot of people are working on the same project at the same time. This platform allows the collaboration to be interactive and seamless.

A challenge to this process for me personally that I encountered was that I was unable to change the language on the settings panel in Google Slide from Icelandic to English. This seems easy, but I tried everything and still have not fixed the problem. So when I was trying to figure out how to embed the code in wix and looking up YouTube videos to learn how, the videos were also outdated, so I had no idea how to find the right settings. Finally, I accessed an english computer and was able to find where "publish to the web" was in the settings, and then find the corresponding setting in my Icelandic settings. I'm aware that this is perhaps not a Google slide problem, but I still think that the option of changing the language on the toolbar should be more accessible and user-friendly

Prezi

Prezi as a very valuable application to use in the educational and business world as it provides the viewers with an interactive and capturing experience. The inherent design of Prezi forces you to dedicate one slide to one idea, which is best practice when designing any presentation. The value of this type of presentation also lies in the movement and transition of the slides as it puts the information you are presenting on each slide in context with the other material presented. The zoom in and zoom out feature in Prezi highlights the relationship between each variable to the viewer clearly, which is very useful as this reduces the words or graphs you would need to use in order to establish that relationship in a regular slide presentation to the viewer.
I found Prezi to be very user-friendly and intuitive to use. I did not encounter major problems when using Prezi and was very happy with how I was able to tailor my presentation to the topic I was presenting. Intersectionality was a concept I was having a hard to explaining to someone, so I decided to use it in this project to highlight the complexity of this concept and I hope that I was able to use this application to get my point clearly and concisely across.
